I have fixed the mechanical noise. the back panel warped and was rubbing on the inner drum. Test Run 3.0 should be much better!
the loud bangs were the heating elements blowing out their end plugs. note to self, remove heating elements before exposing to fire :D
After much internet problems today I can finally upload again.
Compressor should really have a 2800rpm motor on it, but it works well with the 1440rpm one.
Wow i'm going to be busy with this car, having only 7 days before the RWC inspection expires sucks

I have no idea why I have this new alternator, the clutch seem to work fine and it excites when I connect 12V to the excitation terminal via a 5W lamp.
guess I should run it under power and see what happens :D, see how many lead acid batteries I can charge before I stall the diesel engine or smoke the alternator :D
